SOTA® Product Line

The GLWC ‘State of the Art’ SOTA Water Purification System is a modular water purification system that is more energy efficient than the current systems available, has a greater recovery rate of purified water and has a very small and efficient "foot print" for its water production capacity.

SOTA Water Purification System:

The SOTA Water Purification System will self-adapt to various water conditions and is capable of taking freshwater, which is suitable for processing into potable water, and processing that water into a safe, essentially pure, contaminant free, disinfections byproduct free, reverse osmosis (RO) quality water. The system is extremely efficient in the use of the feed water and energy for the amount of contaminants present in the feed water at any given time.

The system only removes things from a fresh water supply being treated, it adds nothing! Actually it is not just a water treatment process or combination of processes, but rather is a water treatment system that is composed of process and subsystems that are integrated into a system who’s potential is actual greater than the sum of its components. It cannot be said that it is just a Reverse Osmosis system, or that it has an Ultra Violet irradiation system. SOTA WP has to be viewed as a complete system.

Defining the art and science of water purification

Frame Assembly

The SOTA WP Whole House Residential/Small Commercial 6,000 Gallon Per Day (2 to 4 gallons per minute) units are manufactured using a design for ease of installation and minimum floor space requirements. Material construction is an engineered light weight aluminum tube, angle, solid and/or perforated sheets frame with leveling legs. (24”D x 55”W x 58”H) Approx. Weight <150 pounds-dry.

System Pressure Pumps

Stainless steel multi-stage high pressure booster pumps are mounted vertically for stability.

Membrane Elements

All units utilize dual 3,000 gallon per day (2 to 4.1 gallons per minute) reverse osmosis membranes in standard spiral wound configuration. Elements may carry either a three or five year warranty against defective workmanship.

System Control

All systems come standard with a programmable logic controller (PLC) for optimum system operation and control, and one TDS controller for monitoring feed-water. Three digital pressure gauges for monitoring system pressures are installed. A digital pressure gauge/switch is used for monitoring feed water inlet pressure. Visual aides: LED warning light(s) & audio alarm. An emergency stop and complete system shutdown buttons are provided for user safety.

Cartridge Pre-Filtration and Re-Circulation Systems

Pre-filtration of the membrane feed-water is standard on all systems. Filter cartridges provided are string wound polypropylene with a 1.0/5.0 micron nominal filtration rating. For non-chlorinated feed-water sources two loadings of pre-filtration are used. With chlorinated feed-water the second filter is replaced with a carbon block/bed filter cartridge with a 5.0 micron nominal filtration rating.

One jumbo style filter system is utilized for the re-circulation filtration and a string wound polypropylene with a 5.0 micron nominal filtration rated filter cartridge is used. The pretreatment and re-circulating filter cartridges used are of the 20”L x 2.5”D size.

Pre-Disinfection Treatment System (Optional)

Some systems may require a Pre-Disinfection system to be added for feed-waters with elevated levels of microbial contamination. A UV Sterilization system is added for this purpose, which is a stainless steel in-line unit rated at 10 gallon per minute. This allows for optimum coverage of the inlet water prior to this Pre-Filtration stage.

Membrane Pressure Vessels

The SOTA WP system currently uses a pair of Hydranautics ESP3- 4040, 3000 gpd modules coupled inserted into a pair of stainless steel pressure vessels.

System Piping and Valves

All systems are pre-piped to the fullest extent and are installation ready. Schedule 80 connections are made using flange type fittings and piping and valves have a minimum rating of 150 psi. Check valves are used to prevent cross contamination between stages. Electric stainless steel ball valves are used to control the process flows.

Post-Disinfection Treatment Systems

All SOTA WP Whole House systems include a UV Sterilization Post-Treatment system and a jumbo post treatment filtration system. The UV Sterilization system is a stainless steel inline 12 gallon per minute type providing for optimum coverage of the purified water. The post treatment filter cartridge is a carbon block with a 5.0 micron nominal filtration rating of the 10”L x 4.25”D size. A high efficiency water diffuser is located within the purified water storage tank. This diffuser is used to re-oxygenate the purified water. This diffuser similar to “air bubble” systems used in aquariums is a patented micro-bubble system allowing for a much greater chance of re-oxygenating the water in which it is placed.

Other Standard Features

SOTA WP systems also comes equipped with A Clean-In-Place (CIP) system, and a 300 US gallon polyethylene plastic water storage tank for the purified water. A constant pressure re-pressurization system is also provided to properly supply water to the home’s water distribution network.
